Deadline for CoS Assignments Changed to April 3rd, 2024

WestBridge Business Immigration is here to inform you of important changes regarding Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) assignments. As trusted UK immigration lawyers with over 17 years of experience, we strive to keep our clients informed and supported through every immigration process.

Effective immediately, the deadline for assigning CoSs has been revised to April 3rd. This update has significant implications for employers and individuals alike, particularly those seeking to benefit from previous salary rules.

Employers wishing to maintain the advantages of the old salary rules must act swiftly. Assigning CoSs before 7pm on April 3rd is imperative. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of defined CoSs, particularly those designated for migrants outside the UK.

For migrants currently in the UK and considering visa switches, the deadline also holds importance. While undefined CoS allocations will remain in place, they will be subject to the new rules upon assignment.

Furthermore, the new salary threshold marks a substantial increase, rising from £26,200 to £38,700. This adjustment underscores the urgency for employers to act promptly if they intend to sponsor migrants at the existing, lower rate.
