WestBridge Business Immigration is committed to using technology responsibly to support the delivery of our professional services and the operation of our business.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-enabled technologies are increasingly becoming part of the tools used by professional services organisations. At WBBI, we use AI in selected areas where we believe it can improve efficiency, support our professionals and help us make effective use of information.

Our approach is based on a clear principle: AI can support professional expertise and judgement, but it does not replace them.

We remain responsible for the professional services and immigration advice we provide to our clients.

How we use AI

We may use approved AI and AI-enabled technologies to support a range of professional and business activities, including:

• research and information analysis;

• reviewing, organising and summarising documents and information;

• drafting and editing;

• administrative and operational activities;

• data analysis and business systems;

• client relationship and business development activities; and

• educational, website and marketing activities.

The nature and extent of AI use will vary depending on the task and the information involved. We aim to use AI where it provides a genuine benefit, rather than using it simply because the technology is available.

Professional judgement and human responsibility

AI is a supporting tool and does not provide immigration advice on behalf of WBBI.

Our authorised professionals remain responsible for the immigration advice and professional services provided to our clients. The use of AI does not transfer or reduce that responsibility.

We do not use AI to make solely automated decisions about a client's immigration strategy, eligibility or appropriate course of action.

Professional judgement, responsibility and appropriate human oversight remain central to the way we work.

Confidentiality, privacy and data protection

We recognise the importance of protecting the information entrusted to us by our clients.

Our obligations relating to confidentiality, privacy, data protection, information security and professional responsibility continue to apply when AI-enabled technologies are used.

Where personal, client or confidential information is processed using AI-enabled technology, its use is subject to WBBI's internal requirements and appropriate safeguards. AI systems used for such purposes must be approved for appropriate business use.

We also consider how AI technologies interact with the information and systems used across our business, including matters such as access, security and the handling of data.

Responsible use and governance

AI technology is developing quickly, and the capabilities and risks associated with it continue to evolve.

We therefore keep our use of AI under review. When considering AI technologies and new uses of them, relevant considerations may include:

• the purpose for which the technology will be used;

• the nature of the information involved;

• confidentiality and data protection;

• information security;

• professional and regulatory responsibilities; and

• the appropriate level of human oversight.

Our internal approach also requires AI use to remain appropriate to the task and within the responsibilities of the person using it.

Accuracy and reliability

We recognise that AI systems have limitations. AI-generated information can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date and should not be assumed to be reliable simply because it appears detailed or authoritative.

The use of AI does not change our responsibility for the quality of our professional work. Appropriate professional judgement and oversight remain necessary when AI is used to support our services.

As AI technology and the regulatory environment develop, we will continue to review our approach and update our practices where appropriate.
